Frequently Asked Questions
Before you plan your stay.
How many nights should I stay for an Ayurvedic wellness retreat?
Personalised stays are available from 3 nights onwards. For a more complete retreat rhythm, Oceanic recommends 6 nights or longer, allowing greater continuity between consultation, therapies, supportive food, yoga, meditation and rest.
Can I choose my own arrival date?
Yes. Flexible arrival dates are available Monday through Saturday, subject to accommodation and Ayurveda-team availability. Sunday is not an arrival day.
Can I come for only 3 nights?
Yes. Three nights is the minimum flexible stay. Your consultation and wellness programme are adapted to the time available, while 6 nights or longer is recommended for a fuller retreat experience.
What is an Ayurvedic Wellness Retreat?
An Ayurvedic Wellness Retreat combines personalised Ayurvedic consultation and therapies with supportive practices such as yoga, meditation, rest and nourishing food within a residential setting.
How is this different from a spa holiday?
A spa holiday typically centres on standalone treatments booked individually. Oceanic’s retreat is built around a personalised approach that begins with a consultation and continues through therapies, yoga, meditation, food and rest as one connected residential experience, rather than a menu of separate spa bookings.
Is this retreat suitable for couples or solo travellers?
Yes. The retreat welcomes both solo travellers and couples. Many guests join individually and find the residential community easy to settle into, while couples are welcome to stay and participate together.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of wellbeing that considers diet, lifestyle, therapies and daily rhythm together, rather than treating symptoms in isolation. At Oceanic, this traditional approach is offered as a wellness experience alongside yoga and meditation, not as a substitute for medical care.
Does the retreat include an Ayurvedic doctor consultation?
Yes. The programme includes an Ayurvedic doctor consultation. Your consultation helps guide the therapies and wellness approach recommended during your stay.
Are the Ayurvedic therapies the same for every guest?
No. The retreat is designed around personalised Ayurvedic care. The exact therapies and schedule may vary according to your consultation and the practitioner’s recommendations.
Which Ayurvedic therapies may be included?
The programme may include therapies such as Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Kizhi and other Ayurvedic treatments recommended after consultation. The exact treatment plan varies from person to person.
Can I enquire specifically about Panchakarma?
Yes. If you are specifically exploring Panchakarma, contact Oceanic before booking. The team can understand your requirements, available duration and the appropriate doctor-guided options before confirming what can be offered.
How is food planned during an Ayurvedic wellness stay?
Vegetarian meals are part of the residential experience. Where appropriate, food can be adapted according to the Ayurvedic doctor’s recommendations and your personalised programme.
Is alcohol or non-vegetarian food available during my stay?
No. Oceanic Yoga serves vegetarian food as part of the residential experience, and the campus maintains an alcohol-free environment in keeping with the overall retreat atmosphere. Guests wanting a different dietary or lifestyle environment should consider this before booking.
Is yoga included in the Ayurvedic retreat?
Yes. Yoga and meditation form part of the residential experience, alongside Ayurvedic therapies. The schedule may include practices such as Hatha or Vinyasa-based yoga, restorative practices, Yoga Nidra, pranayama, meditation and selected sound-healing sessions.
Do I need previous yoga or Ayurveda experience?
No previous yoga or Ayurveda training is required. The retreat is intended as a wellness experience rather than a professional Ayurveda qualification.
Is this retreat a medical treatment programme?
No. The programme is designed for wellbeing and should not be presented as a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Guests with significant health concerns should discuss participation with their healthcare professional and the Oceanic team before booking.
Can I combine this retreat with a yoga teacher training?
Some guests choose to combine a shorter Ayurvedic wellness stay with a longer yoga teacher training at Oceanic. If this interests you, mention it in your enquiry so the team can help plan timing and accommodation across both.
What accommodation is available?
The retreat is residential, with air-conditioned accommodation options. Current room choices and prices should be confirmed for the selected retreat dates.
What kind of food is served?
Oceanic Yoga serves vegetarian food as part of the residential programme. The retreat may adapt meals within the Ayurvedic wellness approach; current meal arrangements should be confirmed for the selected batch.
Where is Oceanic Yoga in Goa?
Oceanic Yoga is located in Morjim, North Goa, on a nature-rich hillock close to Morjim Beach.
What should I bring for my Ayurvedic wellness stay?
Comfortable, loose clothing for yoga and daily wear, swimwear if you’d like to use the pool, and any personal items you’d normally bring on a residential stay. Oceanic’s Pre-Arrival & Arrival Guide covers packing and travel details in full.
How do I plan my arrival?
Use Oceanic Yoga’s Location & Getting Here page and Pre-Arrival & Arrival Guide for current airport, transfer, packing and arrival information.
